March Library

Built in the early noughties, this is a purpose-construct in an appealing location close to the river and the town centre. Hopefully the local authority will take pride in this modern multi-purpose edifice and keep it open for all. There is an extensive range of books, CD's, DVD's and access to many multi-media facilities. There are also rooms to let for public functions as well as a mine of information about the area eg. What to see, where to go etc. Great local facility.

I recently moved from a county whose council was hell bent on shutting their libraries and shedding their collections 😭; Cambridgeshire seems to be taking a different approach and I've been to the super new building that is March library to borrow books, use scanning facilities, reference local collections and more. The variety of stock and social events is brilliant. I have used my new local library more times in the last month than I did the one in my previous town in 10 years!

Decent place. A better range of history books would be good.

For some reason every time I unfortunately walk past this place, it has a very unpleasant cheesy smell. I also don't like the fact there is a spinning camera watching while I get chased by the geese. One time when I went through the smell barrier (the door) I borrowed a Harry Potter book. Voldemort jumped out of the book and started chasing me around the cheesy library. Finally, I went on the roof of the library and saw loads and loads of bird excrement. I'll give it a 1/5 stars
