Its a great environment to sit down, very clean, modern and with good light. There are loads of tables available and around 10 seats with powerpoints. Wifi is available by speaking with the help desk. I was setup with the laptop in 5 mins!!

The library is a public and subjects relevant to London. The collection are on topics concerned with the material on metropolitan London. It is having three sections books, manuscripts, and maps and drawings from dates the eleventh century.

Visited the library today for an afternoon talk. Disappointed that the refurbished loos in the basement are now "gender neutral". Ladies DO NOT use these there is no privacy and the area outside the cubicles is very small (NO ROOM TO SWING A CAT) so you are likely to literally bump into complete strangers of the opposite sex. My advice is go to the WC before attending the library.

Some staff there are rude. The computers are extremely slow and definitely outdated, which ruined my harddisk. The area with the computers stinks..... Cannot imagine a library with such bad condition. Will never go again as there are much better libraries in London.

Guildhall Library offers an amazing programme of online and hybrid talks, which are are always a joy to attend. Just checked out the programme for January to April and it's a feast for anyone with an interest in the history of London.

The original Library at Guildhall was founded in the 1420s. Today, it is a major public reference library which specialises in the history of London.
