East Street Library

tiny one, no.wifi, no toilet ╮(╯_╰)╭

Every week I visit this library with my children. The staff are very helpful and kind. They teach English grammar also they offer opportunities to improve English speaking skills. When I can’t find a DVD or a book, they tell me the closest place I can find it.

It has some books, and does it's local service for those around Old Kent Road, but Peckham Library or Clapham Library have larger facilities.

I was in a huge rush trying to print off / copy really important documents, and the staff were all really great and accommodating. One girl (who told me she only works Saturdays) was extremely helpful. She offered to copy something for me whilst I had a critical matter to attend to- although it may have seemed like a small gesture to her, I hugely appreciated it and it made my day. Thank you, great library.

Helpful and kind staff, nice little place for library essentials.

The library is currently “closed until further notice”. Would be nice if they updated the website/Google so people don’t make wasted trips. It’s a library that is often closed when it should be open and can never be replied upon. Compared to other Southwark Libraries it’s definitely the worst in terms of look, size etc so this doesn’t help it. Probably won’t bother coming here again to find it’s never open and go to the one of borough high street instead
