Brilliant for books of all kinds. I have been using this library since I have been at Hallcroft School in the late 60's. My grandaughter now uses the library and comes all the way from Oakwood Derby to use it. Taxi rank outside all day and everyday. Staff are always helpful and kind

I can't think of a single bad thing to say about this place! The staff are very friendly and helpful, they know their stuff, and there are comfy seats to sit and read and tables and chairs upstairs for study and work. Free wifi and the staff are okay with hot drinks as long as they have a lid. Libraries are such a wonderful resource, and it's a shame more people don't use them, especially when they're as well-run and welcoming as Ilkeston Library. Highly, highly recommend!

Very efficient staff, always helpful. I donated my Mum's book and the manager called me back, asked a few simple questions and sorted it all out.
The library is a great asset to ilkeston and a credit to the council that despite budget cuts they keep it open and well staffed.

I had never been in the library before, I needed to do some photocopies and the librarian was really helpful. I browsed the books for a bit too and they have plenty that I would enjoy

Lovely olde worlde building. Great community feel with friendly helpfull staff. Great links to larger libraries for if you need a book they don't have. Reasonable opening times. Access to research section is through the staff. Covid stopped upstairs being open to the public.
