After going in. As soon as I mentioned I had a parcel to collect, that just seemed to put her back up. If you don't like dealing with package returns and collections, don't offer it as a service!
The women behind the counter was extremely rude, unhelpful and argumentative. I've been in there twice, each time she shouted at me, cut me off while I was talking, and was just overall unpleasant to speak to.
------------------------------
My parcel was marked as delivered the first time I went in, but I wasn't issued a code - I tried to explain that, but she rudely cut me off as I was speaking to her, asking where my collection code was, and waving her scanner in front of me. Pointing to a sign on the wall, and shouting "YOU NEED A CODE" - I tried to remain calm, but after just trying to get to the bottom of why it was marked as delivered, but I didn't have a code (showing her my tracking etc) I was fed up of the way she kept raising her voice at me, cutting me off mid sentence, and pointing at a sign instead of helping me or speaking to me like a person, so I just turned my back and left mid sentence.
I spoke to Yodel, who explained it was incorrectly marked as delivered and would be there tomorrow.
If she'd bothered to actually help me, she could have quickly checked whether my parcel was there or not (they are literally next to her behind the counter) said "oh it's not here" and I would have just left and spoken to Yodel.
Today, I get a parcel collection code after it was marked as delivered. I go into the shop, and am immediately greeted with her grumpy face "YOU WERE IN HERE YESTERDAY WEREN'T YOU. YOUR PARCEL ARRIVED TO-DAY" - Blaming me for it. I showed her my code, she snatched my phone from my hand, and started banging on the screen trying to make the barcode larger so she could scan it. She hands it to me shouting "MAKE IT BIGGER" I explained I couldn't - Mid sentence again "WELL MAKE IT BRIGHTER DO SOMETHING I CAN'T SCAN IT" - I snapped at her "ALRIGHT ALRIGHT" to which she then started speaking to the other person behind the till, and pointing at me at the same time.
She then ordered my ID in a horrific manner, and for me to come around the back of the till to collect it, all while talking to the other person behind the till. I grabbed it, said thanks, and left.
I have never had anything like this before, which is why I am actually taking the time to write this. I have felt anxious, upset, angry and frustrated by the whole experience.
I don't plan to ever go back, and would suggest residents and anyone coming to the area do the same. If you have a collect + parcel and want it sent to another shop, just go a bit further out - Crystal Food & Wine is just down the road.
The young person that works here was very rude to me. First she asked if I was there for " return" of packages , which makes no sense then, she grabbed the packages very rudely, and dropped them on the floor. I told her these were homemade cookies for my friends and that she should, at least, try to be careful. I also pointed out I could see her dropping them on the floor without any care, to what she responded "do you know how the delivery guy treats these??"
I do know, but I don't see them.
She needs to chill and find another job. And maybe bend her knees so she can leave the packages on the floor without throwing them. :)
