Tried unsuccessfully to transfer a resident permit to a temporary car. I was charged £12.50 both times but the permit was not transferred.

When calling parking services the automated system transferred me to ‘homes for Ukraine’ team so it’s impossible to speak to anyone.

After an hour on hold I spoke to someone in the contact centre who promised to pass on the request to the parking department. Well it is now the end of the day and the permit hasn’t been transferred. So I’m now £25 down and also having to use up my visitor parking permits to stop this clown show from giving me a PCN. Absolutely abysmal Hackney.

Worst council ever honestly it’s a joke.

I live in a care free zone, they have issued permits to other residents but won’t provide me with one. When enquiring I was told a mistake was made but year on year they are able to renew their permits.

The visitor vouchers are expensive and they have limited us residents on how many we can apply for.
I have to use 5 per day to park for a full day. Therefore, I am now forced to park near a friends house during the week whilst paying for visitor vouchers for both in Tower Hamlets and Hackney.

This council is a joke and you are failing us residents who live within the borough

Hackney is a truly filthy borough. Social causes. Dirty roads, broken glass on the floor for weeks. But yet their parking enforcement team is working full gas to capture as many residents parking in suspended bays. They should be making Hackney a better place to live but they are not.

I got through to someone (Sharon I think her name was) straight away and she was really kind and helpful. Worth mentioning as most of the reviews here are terrible! Credit where credit’s due.

Parking zones are small, parking times give its residence no where to park sometimes after 10hr after work i have to wait 2 hours for space! and when they suspend bays they don't even inform permit holders by email or post they put suspended cardboards with stapled papers which get ripped off easily and people get fined because of it! no cctv the list goes on but they have no shame in charging a fortune and yet improve nothing.

3 weeks delay in sending parking permits.
Royal mail lost them and after 1 week from the first enquiry and multiple emails they kept me on the phone for 1 hour with the answer "I will call them and let you know"

I've just witnessed unfair theft on my street. Their was a resident/parking suspension set for the 20th may 8am to 5pm. So on that day no one parked in the suspension zone all that day but the works was not carried out. After 5pm people parked as normal only for them to be issued tickets on the 21st and the suspension notice had been updated to the 21st may that morning without notice. To make matters worse the works needed to access the back of an address and never used the suspended bay but the next street. At least two residents were ticketed and may yet be towed. So Hackney Council can now suspend your resident/parking at will and issue you a ticket just like that
