Lovely large, open space, perfect for large families or friendship groups. Very sweet and caring owners. And there are goats right next door!! My only complaint would be the extra levels of self cleaning required prior to leaving, but I understand why, given the pandemic. I would definitely come back.

Fabulous place to fit families wanting to meet up. Lovely, clean, tidy big rooms. Wonderful big hot tub made it extra fun for us. Will definitely be back.

We stayed as a group of 19 including kids. In many ways it was ideal: spacious lounge area with pool table, lots of seating. Dining room was good for our numbers but would be a squeeze with many more than 20 eating. The kids enjoyed the gaming ‘snug’ room. The down side to Whitton Lodge is the poorly laid out kitchen space which makes meal preparation and clearing up much more challenging than necessary. There are two kitchens in separate but adjacent rooms which would be so much more usable if knocked together and redesigned as there is plenty of space. The only other negative is some of the rooms were very cold over night: even with the radiators on max they didn’t kick out much heat. But all in all I’d recommend this for large groups as many boxes are ticked. The hot tub was enjoyed and the location was ideal for our geographically spread group. We will be back!

Great big beautiful place. Plenty of parking. Bedrooms are nice and big all with en suite. The grounds are lovely to. We have just stayed there. There was 22 of us. Great place for get togethers. Feels very homely. The place was lovely and warm to. For saying it's a big place.

WHITTON LODGE TRANSFORMED WITH NIBE NIBE ground source heat pump transforms Whitton Lodge holiday home The Background Whitton Lodge has a lot to offer anyone visiting the quiet Chesterfield countryside; the holiday home features three kitchen areas, nine en-suite double rooms and sleeps a total of twenty-six. However, whilst all that space offers plenty of room for holidaymakers, it has long led to huge energy bills for its owners. John Powell, who lives with his family in a 3-bed bungalow on site, decided to tackle this downfall by switching away from direct electric. His search began for a renewable energy heating system. With plenty of garden space surrounding the property, a single Ground Source Heat Pump was established as an ideal solution for heating both the lodge and the bungalow. Newark-based heat pump specialists, Trusted Energy Solutions, took care of the installation and chose a powerful 40 kW F1345 Ground Source Heat Pump to meet the total annual heat demand (110,021 kWh) the large property requires. This was installed and connected to 2500 linear meters of ground collector pipe on the land surrounding the property. Underfloor heating and new radiators were also installed to increase efficiency and maximise comfort and warmth. The Results Trusted Energy Solutions were able to complete the installation in just two weeks during July 2020. The Powells are already enjoying the benefits of a comfortable living environment and saving a significant amount on their energy bills at over £7,000 a year. This will be complimented further by regular cashback payments once their Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) application is finalised. No towels provided despite what is said on the website. Also no bath mat inside the shower or to stand on making it dangerous.
