Great place to have a relaxing break. The cabin's are well equipped and spotlessly clean. The lakes are well stocked with good quality fish. And the owners couldn't have been more help.and Button the little dog even kept me company in my swim some days.

Rich and Sam have created a true wilderness of escape and the fishing is superb. Shout out to Charlie, their son, who's as diligent as his folks. A true model of a successful family business. Beautiful place 🤌

Booked last minute, one pitch left for our sprinter campervan...Richard ,the owner was a nice welcoming chap who was very interested in me telling him my grandfather owned this place before it became a fisheries. This was a working farm once and brought back amazing memoirs when I was younger. Sad in a way, but looks like Richard and his wife are doing a grand job in looking after the fisheries and land....full service pitch by the way. Look forward to visiting again.

Lovely cabin, decor lovely however it really does depend on who your neighbours are to if u get a good night sleep as the cabin is not soundproof!
Fishing lakes very peaceful. However lots of extras that need to be paid for if you use them. Not very private if you have disruptive neighbours!
Fishing was good caught a few however in the "big lake" was catching 8lbs fish!
We agreed a price to pay as they charge £10 per day and we were only fishing for one day and some evenings all agreed £20 in thought this was very reasonable for our stay.
However when it came to leaving and paying the money agreed the owner turned very rude and very aburpt and starting swearing, saying we fished more than we did! Very rude and poor customer service. Very disappointing end to our break.
We feel if u visit a fishery and pay for a log cabin it should of been included in the price.

I'm torn between 4 or 5 stars but settled on 4. Sorry. The location is fantastic and the staff great. The accommodation is really good as is the layout of the whole site. This alone would achieve 5*. The fishing pegs are good and suitable for all styles of angling. However the fishing was not particularly good when we were there but it was spawning season so we were lucky to catch at all. I think an extra £10 to fish the specimen lake is a bit unnecessary for residents who arent necessarily after big fish. One point to mention is the floating debris which clings to your line making fishing very difficult at times. Perhaps an aerator in both pools would help. Would definitely recommend for a quiet fishing holiday and hopefully we'll go back later in the year. Theres also a very friendly dog who will visit you.
