Is advertised as nice peaceful residential site. We have had nearly 2 years of continuous building work around the park and now with the owners trying to sell the top field to build rentable housing, looks like we will have another 2 years of disruption and be sitting in the middle of a building site.

A mix of older and new park homes. There is a residents club on site however apparently it no longer has a bar though it is possible to take your own.

This was a peaceful, friendly little "village" with lovely neighbours, own licenced club & post office. Whilst the neighbours are still lovely, the park owner is threatening the whole future of the park by pursuing a residential development of 115 houses to rent on 2 adjacent, former agricultural fields that a few years ago he promised residents would be a 5 star extension to this park. In addition to this would be the despoiling by urbanisation of Nell Lane, an historic, beautiful country lane used by many residents and local people to walk up to Cuerden Valley Park. Even Cuerden Valley Park have been persuaded, in the form of "financial incentives" to facilitate this residential development which could worsen the flooding in the Park itself. By the way, the main entrance/exit onto Wigan Road is subject to flooding too. If you're even considering moving here, I suggest you discuss your plans with some of the residents as it might not be the peaceful, rural retirement you are expecting . The club no longer has a licenced bar either !
