My husband and myself have just returned from a lovely weekend at Oldfields Farm, with our dog Hedley. It was a treat for me from my husband and it was a perfect place to spend my birthday weekend. Emma made us feel extremely welcome and could not have done more to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Handel's Muse is beautifully presented, spotlessly clean with high quality soft furnishings and great attention to detail. You really have everything you need for a self catering break.

Despite the cold weather, it was warm and cosy with a fabulously hot shower and complimentary toiletries.
The bed is extremely comfortable and the welcome basket with eggs, scones and doggy treats was a lovely touch. On arrival, there is a detailed information folder which contains all the information you could need to fully enjoy your stay. We found no issues at all with the Wi-Fi which remained fully functional all the time.

The surrounding countryside provides lots of walking opportunities which Hedley especially enjoyed and places to see. The enclosed garden within the large, secure garden was hugely appreciated as inbetween walks, we knew Hedley was safe if he needed to go out, especially when dark in the evenings. Other dog owners will definitely appreciate this and it was a major plus point for us (Hedley likes to 'explore', alone at every opportunity!)

We thoroughly recommend Oldfields Farm and plan to return at some point, hopefully in the Spring or Summer to enjoy the garden in its full glory with its BBQ and Gazebo.

Thank you Emma, Ben and Seamus!

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Oldfields Farm. Emma goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome with everything you can think of in the super cute Handel’s Muse. Delicious homemade scones await you on arrival and homemade doggie treats for the pooch. The enclosed garden is wonderful, our little mini dachshund loved exploring in it. There is also a games room with loads of fun stuff to do & a gym!
Emma provides a very informative book on the surrounding area, giving details of walks, local pubs & cafes, all dog friendly, as well as places to visit. The area is beautiful and well worth a visit.
Would love to return in the summer to make the most of the garden with its barbecue & gazebo.

What an amazing time we had at Oldfields farm. Emma, you are a star! Thank you for spoiling weary travellers from Holland for choice in little extra luxuries for our stay and for your warmth and hospitality. The farm is located in such an idyllic setting, we loved every second. Oldfields farm will definitely see us again…

We had a lovely time at Oldfields Farm! The cottage was warm, cozy and had everything we needed for our mini break.
Emma met us on arrival, showed us around and made us feel very welcome and at home. She had left us with a basket of scones, jam, clotted cream, fresh eggs from her hens, milk and tea/coffee which was very much appreciated!
Our fur babies were also made to feel welcome and at home.
We enjoyed playing table tennis in the barn, local walks and exploring the peaks with visits to Dovedale, Kinder Scout and also a bit of shopping in Derby.
Oldfields farm is perfectly located to explore multiple locations and we were very happy with our visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others wanting to visit the Peak District without being too remote (Ashbourne and local shops/supermarkets are around a 10 minute drive away) but whilst still being in the countryside.

Just got back from a lovely stay at Oldfield's Farm, can't wait to return! The cottage was so cozy and had everything you could possibly need. Some lovely walks right from the doorstep and our dog Piper loved the big enclosed garden- she would also definitely recommend it here lol!

We had such a lovely time at Oldfields Farm back in August. I dare say it's the most dog friendly place we've ever stayed at and Emma really understands rescue dogs which is rare! The cottage is so well equipped with everything you need and the garden is magnificent. Lila couldn't get enough of the garden. There's so many nice walks nearby too. We don't tend to go back to the same place as we like trying different accommodation but we've already booked our second stay which says a lot. Thank you Emma ❤️

A great place to escape and forget the world for a few days. Everything you could need. Some great walks to be had and it’s great to have an enclosed garden so the dogs can roam free. We would lose Marci for hours out there whilst she is exploring. It was our 2nd visit but it certainly won’t be the last.
Thank you to Emma and family for being so accommodating.

We stayed for 4 nights back in November with our two Chihuahuas Coco and Cuba. Emma met us on arrival and gave us the tour. The place is really dog friendly and our 2 settled in really quickly. The house has everything you need for a great stay. On Emma's recommendation, we went to the Duncombe Arms nearby (8min drive) for a Sunday lunch. It is on the Michelin Guide, and is one of the best lunches we have had. Food and staff were great. 3 courses for £35. Lovely walks nearby. Great stay, will definitely be back.
