Went here to my son and daughter in laws belated wedding celebrations. The grounds are ample, the rooms to stay overnight were more than adequate. Only thing to point out is that due to local bye law, all music has to stop at 11. Not a big issue really, but something to note in advance.

Came for a wedding, beautiful gardens and house. Only negative point is access to car park is tight and ideally you need to approach from Sandwich, to avoid needing to do a u-turn to enter car park.

Guston Court can not be trusted! We paid in full and they canceled at the last minute!
We booked a three night stay at Guston Court as wedding accommodation for the bride’s family (11 adults, 3 children). After such a terrible year of Covid and having to move our wedding date three times we were thankful when we secured our booking with Guston Court (through Mulberry Cottages). We paid in full and were looking forward to our stay.
Last weekend, nearly a year on, we received a TEXT to say the booking was canceled by the owner of Guston Court. No more specific reason was given. Just gone. Now with weeks until the wedding, and needing to find accommodation for 14 people (in a highly competitive year of staycationers), we feel absolutely betrayed and letdown by the owners of Guston Court. There was absolutely no concern or apology from them. Just completely heartless.
It’s totally unacceptable and surly a breach of the contract made with the owner when we paid in full. It absolutely would not be tolerated if it was the other way around and I canceled within this time frame!
The past year and a half has been devastating for the wedding industry, and it’s not helped by people like the owners of Guston Court. I would have thought they would be thankful for a secure fully paid booking, such as ours, but instead they have kicked us to the curb for what I can only assume are selfish reasons to maximise your own profits. What’s more, immediately after the booking got canceled, we saw some of the dates we booked available again on airbnb. What is even going on there!
They were happy to keep our £3400 throughout the whole year of the booking, a huge amount given all the uncertainty brought on by Covid, but seemed to get rid of us when it suited them.
I should clarify that although we booked through Mulberry Cottages the decision to cancel our booking without reason came from the owner of Guston Court. Mulberry Cottages were just acting out the owners request and couldn’t offer any help. Why they don’t have systems in place to ensure fully paid bookings are protected and honoured is beyond me. Let this be a lesson to anyone choosing to book through Mulberry Cottages, or their parent company Cottages.com. Your booking is never safe, even if you pay in full. The owner can cancel at any time for any reason.
I would not recommend Guston Court because clearly they can’t be trusted. We have never felt so angry and betrayed by any service provider ever.

be aware that the owner can cancel at any time, we were due to stay in less than 2 weeks and the owner cancelled booking. no reason given two very upset children and spent most of the day cancelling trips booked etc.
