We have done 12-15 holiday cottage rentals - we've not had a bad one but Garth cottage was such a good experience I felt compelled to write my first holiday cottage review. The owners Helen & Geraint met us on arrival and explained the facilities etc. They were very welcoming and friendly. It was immediately obvious that they put a lot of effort into cleaning and maintaining the cottage - it was totally spotless. There are extra Covid measures in place but I suspect this is their normal high standard anyway. The cottage is semi-detached and has a new large driveway with gates that you close after driving in. Just metres from the Pont-Y-Pair Bridge in the centre of Betws (the ideal location as a base for exploring Snowdonia and North Wales). The decor in the house is modern but still maintains the character of the cottage. Kitchen was compact but contained everything you could want for a weeks stay. Useful extension/utility room for wet coats and boots (you are not likely to go a full week in North Wales without some rain!). Cosy lounge with 2 comfortable sofas, modern large TV and sound bar. There is a wood burner in the large fireplace but we had no cause to light it as the weather was still warm and there is central heating throughout the house. The dining room table was already set with plates and cutlery. A lovely surprise was a hamper on the table containing wine, Ribena, local cheese (Black Bomber - our favourite coincidentally), chocolates, biscuits, coffee and tea etc. I understand they tailor the welcome hamper depending on the visitors e.g. couples or families with younger children. Comfortable double bed in one room and twin singles in the other. Nice shower room with very powerful shower. Pretty back garden with seating - unfortunately we didn't have much time to spend in the garden though. We would love to stay here again and would not hesitate in recommending Garth to either similar sized families (2 adults and 2 children (6 and 8 in our case)), or 1 or 2 couples. Thank you again Helen & Geraint .

Fantastically warm welcome from the owners and a lovely welcome hamper on arrival. Cottage is well appointed and in a perfect location for easy access to the village. Stunning local scenery with many local attractions within easy reach. Would highly recommend.
