A magical experience of nature and truly sustainable living in every detail. Warm welcome and loving attention to detail everywhere in evidence - for all ages. Camping, homely lodges, a beautiful shepherd's hut, learn about making pizza ovens and much else with the knowledgeable and passionate naturalists Gyles and Alison. School groups, families or individuals are welcomed with tailor-made programmes and food - including fine dining experiences cooked with locally foraged ingredients. NAUTURESBASE has to be experienced to be believed. Really.

Liked: Great hosts. Location is perfect, only 15 min drive from the stunning Aberaeron.
Beautiful, peaceful and private pitch.
Highly recommend the shepherds hut for those campers who like their creature comforts.
Loved our stay.

We have just spent a week here in the forest lodge. Lovely cosy place, such a warm welcome on arrival too. Fantastic find. Great for letting the children run free and not have to worry about them. Interaction with the animals for all ages. Great fun!

Liked: Such a lovely campsite! The facilities were clean and tidy. It had everything you needed. The bathrooms were private and clean. There was lots of safe space for children to play in. There was animal feeding in the morning for children. A little shop had some necessities including wood for the campfire and a fridge for any food. A really relaxing, pleasant stay.

Liked: We've just enjoyed a week's camping at Naturesbase and are already talking about when we can return. The tent pitch was a great size and only a very short walk from the car with wheelbarrows supplied for transporting stuff. The showers and toilets were always clean and washing up facilities were good too. There was a little shop with an honesty box providing eggs, milk , fire wood etc as well as a fridge and freezer for storing essentials and icepacks. The ethos of the site is (as the name implies) ecofriendly and this was reflected everywhere around the site, with recycling , composting etc encouraged.
The kids (11 and 6) had so much fun and didn't want to come home. There is so much for them to do on site- badminton, a tyre swing, feeding the animals, a nature trail (with dens to play in and a river to dam)and a play fort . They also enjoyed an excellent bushcraft session where they learnt to light a fire and whittle. There are also activities for the grown ups should you want to partake- yoga and reflexology and we all enjoyed a cooked breakfast and also pizza night (complete with silly songs around the camp fire).
The local area is so beautiful with little seaside harbours, sandy beaches and countryside walks to explore as well as gold mines and castles all within a drive as well.
But the absolute best thing about Naturesbase are the owners Gyles and Alison. Their complete passion for what they have created shines through everything they do and we were made to feel so welcome by them. Gyles' patience with the children and his ability to share his knowledge of nature with them in such a fun and amazing environment is priceless.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay and will definitely recommend it to friends. We travelled for six hours from our home is Sussex, but it was worth it!

Really lovely campsite. Pitches are big and separated so you don't feel penned it at all. Each one has its own fire pit with wood available to buy on site and grids available to borrow for cooking. Lots to do for the kids - the tyre swing was popular and there's a play fort and you can help feed the animals in the mornings. You can order a cooked breakfast on Mondays and Fridays and highly recommend pizza night on a Monday too! We will definitely be going back.
