Champion Timber (Sutton)

What a great place to get all your timber and needed tools. Great staff. Mick. He approached us as we entered today and offered his assistance throughout. He helped us with ALL the stuff that was needed for a complete new fence. Helped with the loading too. He even guided us to complete a trade account form. I felt so much helped by him and to show my appreciation, I written this review. Thank you Mick again.

I don’t normally write reviews but I just couldn’t let this one go unnoticed. Walked one day to buy just one piece of wood and they all totally ignored I was there , it’s like I was invisible?! The whole sale should have taken no more that 2-3 minutes but I was there for almost 15. They just randomly started chatting amongst themselves and ( I kid you not) SINGING!!! While customers are present! Total lack of customer relation skills and professionalism. Just couldn’t believe what I witnessed. Will never shop there again and will definitely not recommend this branch to anyone. Drive do New Malden they are much better!

The staff were very helpful in helping us buy the correct amount of the lovely composite decking we bought. The delivery time was excellent, and the delivery guy helped me carry it into the side garden.

Every time I’ve been to this store I’ve always walked out cross and irritated. The staff just seem to have a knack of not providing friendly customer service - so much so that I’ve sourced all the wood (£3k) for my project elsewhere. Despite them being the best place to buy some of the other stuff I need I absolutely will not be purchasing here again. There’s a few other 1 star reviews on here - they’re all very believable.

ABOVE & BEYOND I am unskilled and once again took a drawing to Sutton Champions for an idea I had to build a mini radiator style cover to hold and protect my modem. Adam was able to offer suggestions and cut to size what I needed. He also got advice on specialist screws to use and even though Grant had completed the till transaction Adam realised there was a cheaper option and Steve happily organised the refund. They also checked if I had the right screw driver for the specialist screws. Nothing was too much trouble. Even when Adam realised I hadn’t travelled by car he wrapped the items together with plastic wrap so that it would make them easier to carry. I can’t praise them enough. They gave me their time and expert advice even when there were other customers to serve. I completed my project the same day and it was mostly due to their correct cutting to size and specialist screws. Thank you Champions.

Purchased 10 x Plasterboard sheets, 4 were damaged, paper torn on face side and edges blown, also £12.30 sheet where as Wickes is £8.50 for same manufacturer product!

Great customer service. Searched on their website for the timber I required then visited the store and show a staff member a screenshot of the timber.He found the timber for me and cut them to size immediately as it was a quiet Monday afternoon.
