Nottage Timber Merchants & Joinery (Nottage Joinery Ltd)

Bought 6 door lining kits from Nottage Timber. The quality of the timber was absolutely awful - very very rough sawn low-grade timber. Had to spend hours sanding and filling each one to get them even close to a usable standard. Tried to support a local independent business but in the end regretted the decision. (After the Nottage delivery we bought a single door lining kit from a national chain and the difference was like night and day - very little prep was needed).

Useless. Had to contact them 3 times to try and pay for the timber and then no communication regarding delivery for 2 weeks at which I called and it was promised the week after. No communication yet again and no timber.....

Staff here were very friendly, helpful, polite and professional and product supplied was wood quality

Had really good help and advice from Luke on purchasing red cedar cladding. Would highly recommend Nottage timber and feel you get much better service than buying from large metchants or online.

Just had stairs made really nice lovely guys all easy from design to completion. Thank you.

Wanted to use a local company to keep business within the area – big mistake. Only bought fire door frames that should have included Intumescent strips, quality was dubious the machining can only be described as rough and the strips were not included. I complained and after over a month of nagging the strips arrived – the wrong size. A further six weeks on still no strips after countless e-mails and promises – cutting my losses and buying the remaining missing parts elsewhere now.

Happy with the wood, and it was delivered quicker than estimated. Also it was carefully unloaded in a nice neat stack on my drive despite my being out when it arrived. Thanks

Knowingly gave me damaged skirting boards with a small length to cover when I had requested a specific size, refused to replace or refund when the wood supplied was not usable absolute crooks judge a company on how they react to problems especially ones they’ve caused
