I hired Karen to do my hair and make-up for a friend's Christmas party and she absolutely smashed it! She was was clear and friendly when communicating with me about the style of hair and make-up and wanted and provided her own recommendations with worked wonderfully! She arrived promptly and nailed the hair and make-up I wanted for the party. I would definitely hire her again for an event like this!

Karen did both hair and make up for me for a Christmas party I was attending. She was brilliant, totally professional with great communication before the big night. Both hair and make up looked brilliant and lasted for the whole night. I highly recommend Karen for all your make up needs!

Karen did my makeup along with my sisters and mums for a Christmas party that we went to. The make up looked amazing and stayed on well the whole night. Her manner was very professional and it was easy to communicate to her what we were looking for. Highly recommend Karen for any party makeup looks!

First off I'd like to say that the hair and make up perofmed by Karen herself were excellent and my bride looked beautiful.

The bad review comes from the terrible organisation from Karen and a rude attitude from her assistant.

Firstly, less than 2 weeks before the wedding, Karen made contact and asked to reschedule the appointment as she had made personal plans for that day.
This was not enough time to find an alternative, so we had no choice but to agree. This meant my wife was sat with her hair and makeup done for 2 hours longer than planned, trying not to do anything that might impact the work.

We asked if we could refund one of the bridesmaids, as they had fallen ill. Karen rejected this stating terms and conditions. Even though she had already altered these by changing the appointment. This would've shown good faith on Karen's part.

The bulk of the work on bridesmaids was performed by Karen's assistant solo whilst we always knew an assitant would be involved, she was performing more work than originally planned as Karen left early for her plans. This was a bit upsetting as we had paid for Karen's reputation and expertise for the most part.

The attitude of the assistant was also rude and insulting with such things as:

- Commenting negatively on the age of the bridesmaids cars, not realising people are in different financial situations..
- saying how a bridesmaids eyebrows were styels so differently and didn't match.
- commenting on how a bridesmaids hair was so thin at points.
-judging on the bridesmaids child's thin hair. It's hard to explain these things to a child, and crippling to their self esteem.

These were all said in a negative tone that implied judging. Not the sort of thing you want to hear on a day where you're being dressed up to feel beautiful.

So overall, I'm sure Karen can do a great job, but her inflexibility and disregard to show good faith when SHE was changing terms, and her assistant attitude , really put a downer on the morning.

Karen has been amazing from day one.

From superb communication so amazing flexibility (we had may postponements).

The standard of her work (wedding hair and makeup) was excellent and her professionalism second to none.

I would highly recommend.
