I bought the groupon as a gift for my partner. The Groupon T&C's state that the voucher is valid from 10am to 3pm from Wednesday to Saturday. So I initially tried calling to book a Saturday afternoon, and was told I need to give at least three weeks notice, again, not stated in the T&C's, it just says appointments only. So I said fine, can you book me Saturday afternoon in three weeks time. She said no, she only has morning slots. So I said I'd get back to her with a date. So I messaged their Facebook page, I suggested a Saturday at the beginning of the next month, more than four weeks away, again, was told she could only do morning slots. So I messaged again, asking for the soonest available date that I can do a Saturday afternoon. The message was read and ignored for two days, so I messaged again to prompt a response. She replied asking me if I can do any other time or day in the morning. I said no. I then had to explain my partners work schedule, and why it prevents her from doing morning appointments, as well as the logistical problems. This message was again, read and ignored for days. So I got hold of Groupon, and chased a refund. It took a lot of back and forth to get the money I paid back in my account instead of Groupon credit.
If you don't want to do weekend afternoon appointments, don't advertise 10am to 3pm Wednesday to Saturday. If you require three weeks notice, state it in the terms so people know to avoid if it doesn't fit their schedule. If you don't want bad reviews, communicate better.
I bought a voucher for myself and one for a gift in June, and booked 2 appointments for August. Unfortunately Susanne had to cancel these a couple of days before and so we rebooked for September. I gave 24 hours notice to cancel this appointment, due to unforeseen circumstances. Our vouchers were redeemed, after I had cancelled and before my relation arrived at the salon and found no one there. So we never received the treatments that I had paid for, and the vouchers were both redeemed.
