Brilliant service from this company and their team. Our VW MK7 golf DSG gearbox had failed quite spectacularly. Stephens Engineering carefully found the correct fault and replaced what they (only) needed to, sourcing products at a good price. They certainly know their trade. Thanks!

My pride and joy 2005 VW T5 6 speed Tiptronic gearbox drives like new again. Many thanks to Jason and his team and Tina at the reception of course. Everyone was friendly and professional. My local mechanic changed the gearbox oil for the first time since I bought my T5 in 2007 and in the process broke one of the 5 sump bolts. That wasn't the main issue as it wasn't leaking however I suddenly experienced that my gearbox was slipping when changing gears. I was blaming myself for not taking my beloved T5 to a transmission expert, lesson learned. Take your car to a specialist who knows what they're doing if you have any auto transmission issues or even for just transmission oil change. I asked my mate to find me an automatic transmission expert online and found Stephen Engineering. I phoned and spoke with Tina at the reception who was very polite and professional. Tina asked me to come to see what they can do to help me with my issue on my T5. I drove 45 miles from London and met Jason who was very polite, friendly and professional. Jason made me feel comfortable and asking me questions about the issues I was experiencing with my T5. Jason test drove my T5 and told me what the issue was and how much it's going to cost to repair. Jason's asking price was exactly what I paid him. No hidden extras. He even removed the broken sump bolt and replaced it with a new one. BMW F31, transfer case problems one which BMW choose to ignore, it is a common fault. Their answer to me was replace the transfer case and the auto transmission box at staggering £6.5k. I spoke to 3 FATE members non of which had any ideas how to fix the problem, one suggesting come and see us and we'll take a look. Only one Stephens had the answer over the phone and a fix, the only down side was 200 miles away. Took the car there left it overnight went back the following day to collect the car which was fixed at a cost of £1456.00. So in conclusion BMW 0 Stephens 1. Shop around don't be hoodwinked by main dealers.

Fixed my gearbox and now my car drives smoothly again. Sorry for giving the guy there a heart attack about my golf gti I meant tsi 🤭 all staff were polite and fixed my vehicle for a reasonable price. Cannot recommend enough

Not a customer, but over the phone they took the time to explain my options to me. Even when my it meant turning me away as a customer since the repair would not have been economically viable for my car. Direct and to the point. I always appreciate an honest businessman.

A job too far....
Despite spending 5 days drilling out seized up bolts and promising never to undertake this job again, Stephens Engineering completed a fantastic repair to my LR 3 Discovery diesel engine turbo. The car now goes better and quieter than when new!
Full credit to Neal's in depth knowledge of Land Rover vehicles and his perseverance. In the past he diagnosed and repaired faults that other garages missed.
Stephens are always very busy, a good sign, and it's well worth waiting for the service and personal attention you will receive.

Great people, they serviced my DSG wich afterwards changed gears very smoothly,and bow they serviced my 7gtronic, great to have such a place very close to home. The best thing about this place is inside,wich is like a cool engineering museum! They take their time to explain what has been done and give you great advice every time.Thank you for your great service!

Had my Audi A4 B7(2006) 2.0t Quattro transmission serviced today
it has the ZF6HP19A transmission which Audi claim is sealed for life (chingford Audi for that reason refused to change the fluid)
My vehicle has 93288 genuine miles although I didn’t have any issues I thought it was best to get the transmission fluid changed I’ve owned the car since 2008
