Penn Surgery

I changed to this surgery about a year ago, from another local surgery. I can always get an appointment fairly quickly and I am very happy with the doctors here. They are caring and also very professional. Overall, I am really happy that i changed to this surgery. The only downside (which for me isnt really an issue) is that parking is sometimes a little difficult. However, it is better than at my previous surgery!

I have always admired this surgery including all GPS and most staff at reception. However, lately the staff at reception do not bother to answer the phone e.g. I tried to call them on Friday 15th April between 3pm and 3.40pm .....nobody pick up the phone. After several attempts and waiting in the queue...I just gave up. On Monday 18th April I tried again at 11.44am and 11.47 am but no staff bother to answer the phone despite the fact there was no queue. I'm very disappointed with some staff at reception window.

I have been a patient at Penn Surgery for many years and I can say nothing but good things about the doctors, nursing staff and receptionists. They have been a great support throughout the years for me and my family. There is the ability to build positive relationships which is invaluable when illness strikes. Just a big thank you to all concerned.

I visit my GP not very often (as I end up buying some paracetamol eitherway!) but everytime I go to see a GP , I have to wait at least 10-20 minutes to be called in. Unfortunately staffs (Doctors and receptionists) are new faces everytime! Today after waiting for 2 weeks, for the first time I was 10 minutes late and I was refused to be seen, while absolutely nobody was waiting. Absolutely no patient.
Did I mention the very rude receptionist was eating at the reception and she was hesitant to answer?

The drs that I have seen have been brilliant. However the booking system is RIDICULOUS and DANGEROUS. Call at 830 no appointments, call at 1, to be advised they need to check with a Dr get a call back at 3pm to be told no appointments today 🤷🏾‍♀️ Meanwhile my son is running a high temperature👍🏽. There must be a better way of operating? Needless to say need to look for a new Dr's, where I can be confided my under 5 will be seen. Considering our family of 3 go to the drs less than once per year 😔

This review is solely based on the appointment system, which is an absolute joke.,, Call at 8:30 Peak time leaving the house getting kids to schoo,l don't use your Phone whilst driving though! Then call at one when your in the thick of work or life, just coming of your lunch break. Bring back the days when u could just book an appointment and organise your calender.
It's getting extremely frustrating, cuz once u have missed the slot you're having to wait another day just to miss it all over again

I'm really pleased having recently moved from Penn Manor to here, the receptionists are friendly, appointments are available and Dr Nath is a good Doctor. Thanks Penn Surgery
