The Usk Surgery

I would like to give 5 stars as this is an above average GP surgery. All the Doctors are lovely, but I find Dr Parry suits my personality best. For each patient it may be a different Doctor. In fact the receptionist staff are all lovely and do not fit the stereotype. Tolerant when I am not at my best. What is worrying to me is the new system where you can only make same day appointments. I would like to make book ahead appointments to discuss my chronic health problems. The same day telephone triage system works well for acute issues but not so well for those with chronic problems or for those who need to make arrangements to get to the surgery. The appointment system should be able to accommodate book ahead appointments for those that have complex medical conditions and prefer to have continuity of care. It feels like a family practice and I feel cared for when I visit there. Well Done. But for five stars please reconsider the booking system

Very poor system of booking appointments, on the day only and to get your place in the que you have to explain your symptoms to the receptionist, as far as I am concerned this is information for the doctor only.

Superbly run surgery friendly staff and great medical team.

Excellent overall experience.

Old gentleman with glasses behind the desk is as rude as you can get, I don’t know if it’s my skin colour or age… regardless, he shouldn’t be there. I work hard and pay my taxes. Treat everyone there with respect and manners, first time that I have to use prescribed medication from the gp in 35 years and he makes the whole process/experience terrible. Thank god the girls are still there! Unfortunately past couple of times I went there I had to deal with him, hopefully next time I’ll have a bit more luck and won’t see him.

Easy to deal with, same day appointments either telephone or f2f. Can book appointments online and very easy to request information. All staff are very helpful and advise you of best course to book appointments 👍🏼

Always very softly spoken, friendly caring and helpful staff. Best surgery I've been to! I have mental health and they're understanding ☺️👍
