The Methodist church in Manningtree has architecture far more ornate than is typically associated with the low church faiths. Only the Methodist church in Bramford Road, Ipswich, has more impressive architecture than this example to be found on the Essex border. Sitting atop the steep hill above the High Street, the Methodist church is a local landmark, the Georgian tower recognised by mariners on The Stour.
