Facilities ok and proximity to things to do great, but site seems to have a dump of some sort actually inside it, with truck after truck coming through the campsite to unload and a digger in frequent daytime operation. There is no fence or barrier, preventing children from roaming on to this area. Seemed potentially very dangerous. Contrary to the pictures this makes for a pretty awful view and a persistent concern around the safety of your children with absolutely no advanced information to set expectations. It wouldn't seem too difficult to at least tape off the area, or put up a temporary fence.

That said the shower block was spotless and relatively new, although a bit short on showers. Water pressure was excellent. The kids play area seemed to keep them occupied for hours and there's an Asda superstore right round the corner for anything you've forgotten. No shop on site though. Ice cream van swings by o nice or twice a day.

We spent a day at Hardwick Hall and a day at Clumber Park which are both great and in easy reach. We also did the Go Ape at Sherwood Forest which is 10 minutes away at most... so despite issues with the site, it's pretty well located.

Great site great staff very helpful. Nice and clean. Definitely going back again.
Asda just up the road and mansfield town centre only a 10 min drive from site.

Building work starting at 8am in the morning, as they are laying footing for another 30+ statics. They were using impact drill whilst building fence about 10ft being our tent. Diggers and workman swearing with kids on site.
Went fishing and baliff tried charging me £10 for 2 rods, should be £5 + £1 extra rod. Then gave me receipt for one rod £5. Overexaggerating size of fish there saying upto 28lb carp, which I very much doubt due to puddle size.
There are also cameras moving around watching everbodies movement, including a camera in tree above the large bins near the children's park. Not going back again but I doubt they would be bothered as it looks like they don't want tents or tourers, just statics.

Big, open campsite with a very friendly and helpful site manager. Pitches are medium sized so you don't feel too close to your neighbours.

The facilities provided were very clean and spacious.

Campsite located a stones throw away from Sherwood Forest and there are also local shops and supermarkets nearby.

Nice location, very close to large supermarkets and a very nice pub, and felt very secure. Isssues were the shower was a push button and only lasted 2 seconds if that. You also had to wipe the floor of the shower after to stop water residue flooding the rest of the bathroom. Also the play park is open until 10pm and we had children screaming and running behind our tent until then. There was construction work being done next to the camping field that was part of the site that was a wake up call every morning at roughly 8ish. Not a bad place to stay but needs a bit of tweaking.

Nice little site, very quiet and peaceful. Water and electricity points very convenient. The only thing that could be better is an additional shower. Nicely kept playing area for children. Conveniently situated for visiting nearby tourist attractions. Pub and supermarket with cafe doing a full breakfast and dinner within 1/2 a mile.

Nice, tidy, well kept site close to local shops, pubs & restaurants. We stayed for 3 nights on the CL touring caravan field & enjoyed every minute of it with lovely views over the maun valley, short walk to the toilet/shower block which was ideal for us. Had a day's fishing on the 10 peg lake, not a huge lake with few features but still holds some decent size fish. All in all a good site for the family & is dog friendly too so it's ticked all the boxes for us & can't wait to return back soon
