Please could you circulate this message. It’s in order to make other families and the Muslim community of Salmon Lane aware of the incident that took place. Firstly could I begin with saying that we do not have anything against the mosque itself or the members of this mosque.
My 9 year old nephew attends weekend Madrasah at the Locksley estate cultural association & mosque Salmon Lane. On Sunday 19 June, an incident took place. My nephew was brought home by an elderly uncle who is known to my sisters family. My sister had asked the uncle why her son was brought home early. The elderly uncle then explained that the Huzoor (teacher) held my nephew by the neck, as though he was trying to strangle him. Ofcourse my sister upon hearing this was in absolute shock. She had asked her son what had happened. My nephew explained that a mosquito distracted all the children in class that day, where the children started laughing and my nephew was laughing along with them all. As my nephew was the closest to the Huzoor, he grabbed my nephew by the neck as though he was attempting to strangle him. My nephew said this was for atleast a good few seconds. The children then started to make sound after seeing what was happened. They all started to scream in shock. Upon hearing all the commotion, another member of the mosque came to the classroom and took my nephew away. My poor nephew was deeply shocked. He also claimed his neck was indeed hurting.
The members of the mosque came to my sister and had apologised for this incident and brought this Huzoor to my sister the next day to apologise too. We were also told that this Huzoor has now been sacked and will no longer teach at this Madrasah. We as a family have decided to deal with this by working with the Mosque members.
This Huzoors behaviour has astounded us all. We trust Huzoors to teach our children the beautiful Quran. Our trust has been broken.
We shoud appreciate that we having a place for pray until or unless we are. Capable to buikt something bigger and better and how ever name of Allah and all his house is equal.
May all give long life and kepe all healthy to all the poepe who built thos Masjid.
