My wife and her friend has been a member of this cinema for several years , on renewing her membership they sent out 2 complimentary tickets . Whilst trying to use them they told my wife’s friend hers were fake but apparently my wife’s were genuine . When my wife tried to use her tickets she was told she had to hand them in and pay again ( effectively paying twice ) I don’t expect my wife to be publicly humiliated , at 1 point being threatened with the police so on visiting the cinema myself was told there was no one in charge and the owner/manager was on her holidays ( not that this would make any difference as my wife’s friend wrote to her regarding this matter 10 days ago and has still not received a reply )
Let’s make this absolutely clear any fake tickets came from the ritz cinema and if you want a company with any customer service try somewhere else because here it is non existent.
We are quite happy to meet with your elusive manager/owner and the police at a mutually agreed time , we look forward to hearing from you .

What a gem of a place.. small cinema but not at all commercial.. all drinks on offer from tea and coffee served in proper mugs to wine and CAKE! Never seen a cinema sell home baked cakes before.. well worth a visit if you're in the area

What a hidden gem of a cinema!

I really detest modern multiplex cinemas - they have NO personality whatsoever. However I appreciate that some of the old, small cinemas can be a little cramped and the sound can be underwhelming at times.

Belper Ritz absolutely hits the sweet spot for me. It's not that small - the auditorium is a decent size - but it feels personal. There's a nice entrance lounge with cake, tea, coffee, a small selection of ice cream, sweets, chocolate, pick and mix, and a few alcoholic drinks. It's not going to cater for your every whim, but it's intimacy and cosy. The tea comes in proper mugs rather than plastic cups for example.

The staff are just superb and I can't rate them highly enough. What lovely people!

There are lovely snuggly sofas available with a table each end as well as larger seats on offer for those who want additional comfort.

Seats are not reserved, so arrive early for the best spot.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this beautiful traditional cinema, and I will most definitely be returning.

I'd say this is probably the best cinema I've ever been to when taking all factors into account - it's well worth using as an alternative to the anonymous multiplexes!

Took our 3 eldest grandchildren to see a strange world, as a Christmas present, in the posh seats at the back, they loved it, it's a brilliant little cinema that really look after you, highly recommend.

A lovely cinema, very nice atmosphere and very clean.
Staff are lovely and all the facilities are well maintained.

It would be nice if there was more waiting/seating area before the show, but it's a small venue so can't complain too much!

Amazing old style cinema. Love the choice of drinks, cakes and snacks to take in whilst you watch the film too. Great staff, always friendly. Highly recommended. Recommend to book too.

Quaint little cinema, warm and friendly area. Just like you remember them from years ago, only with all the modern touches.

Well worth a visit. You can buy food, drinks and even alcohol if you so require.
