Like stepping back in time. I absolutely love this cinema. It is a listed building so hope they will leave it as it is as it's beautiful. It's great value for money. They only have one screen but that's ok. There are car parks nearby too or you can park on one of the roads as well further away. The staff are so lovely, we're definitely going back. 🥰

My favourite cinema. It has friendly and professional staff always ready to assist. It is situated in the centre of Ilkeston just of the Market Place, with a public car park next to it
The Scala is one of the oldest operating cinema in the UK. Been Friday it is still a great experience. Staff the best you can get, really affordable especially for family visits.

People really need to try this place!!
Local, single-screen cinema, but has massive character.
Great range of food, drink and snacks, and super-friendly staff.
Yes the seats are a little tatty, but that adds to the character.
At £5.50 for adults, this is less than half the price you'd pay at the multiplex cinemas.
We need to support places such as this as would be a great shame (and a massive loss), if places like this didn't survive.

Its alright the movie was good. The seats were not comfy tho and no holding places. Seats were a big no. But snacks are ok prices the combos are an alright price but for a very small box of pringles it's £1.50?!?!? Definitely bring your own snacks even a £1 KitKat box of 4 bars will do good.

This place is a little gem, a single screen cinema still well maintained from the early 1900’s. Given its age however the seating is comfy, screen was great quality, sound was good & the staff were very friendly. I look forward to returning here.

Ok the seats are absolutely awful I sat through a two hour film and couldnt feel my legs for like 10 minutes but the snacks and drinks were moderately priced as well as it cost me like 2 quid , this would be solid for a 60 minute film but them seats are deadly

Love this place. Affordable prices to take the family, lovely old fashioned atmosphere, and free evening parking next door.
