Friendly team of people who made it all look so easy. Really efficient. Even got to the new flat before we did. Can't fault them

We used City moves for a big move and relocation to Yorkshire. Amazing company. Attentive from the start without being pushy. Very friendly, helpful and careful. There was nothing they wouldn't do or move to help us, including a huge car lift. They never stopped working and were a joy to be around. Would very highly recommend.

We were a bit nervous as this was our first move using a moving service.
Moving within south wales. They arrived half an hour early and got started straight away. Very professional, quick and nice people. They didn't have the tools to dismantle the bed, but I wouldn't blame the movers as it didn't seem like they were notified about it before the move. Either way, they didn't take long before fixing the situation and getting on with it. It had no negative impact on the move.

We found City Moves amazing when we moved house. Office staff always understanding of the stressful time a move brings, always friendly and happy to answer any queries. The boys on the removal lorry were fantastic and worked so hard. Always accommodating any request.
Would definitely recommend.

Men arrived an hour early leaving me to try and finish my last minute packing kettle, breakfast dishes etc quickly around them.Ninety minutes later they left for a two and half hour drive. I had to wait until four pm for keys to new property and was charged extra £200 equalling over £1000 paid. Also Tracy from their office kept phoning piling on more pressure and stress telling me to release her men and pay again to move another day. They have not honoured the agreement with a friend who recommended them to me by paying her £50. I would not recommend city moves to my worst enemy.

Having to move house, rang a few companies to get quotes. City Moves were the only ones who came out and viewed the property to give a genuine estimate.
Even though they were not the cheapest, when I advised them of this they price matched the lowest quote.
They were very good with communication, keeping us updated by email.
The day of the move the three man team were brilliant. They were so helpful and efficient in all that they did. They made a very stressful time bearable.
All in all can't fault this company from start to finish. Professional through and through.

Wish I’d looked up reviews before using this company for storage. So good at getting your custom and seemed like a reputable family business. I used them to move and put my belongings into storage. Initial move went ok and removal team fine. However 7 months later when I was ready to move into new home they lost quite a lot of my belongings. Absolutely didn’t want to take responsibility and didn’t return calls and have a policy of not responding to emails for two days. They lost some precious vintage/collectors items and a few boxes of linen and kitchen goods . Despite taking out their so called premium insurance of like for like they only offered me 15% of the claim, looking for every loophole in the book to get out of paying. Customer service person was very unprofessional and her tone in communications was unbelievably rude and accusatory - no apology and her mission was to get out of admitting responsibility and paying fair compensation for my loss. I note many others have posted similar experiences. I will now be taking them to small claims court and financial ombudsman.

Update - the company have now improved their offer and I have accepted this in settlement of the missing items and the matter is now closed. Pleased that they were able to do this.

Avoid.
We were recommended City Moves by a friend who had a decent experience with them. However we seemed to have dealt with an entirely different company as our experience was terrible.
Our initial consultation made us feel confident and listened to - the surveyor was friendly and was adamant there was nothing they couldn't do and that the whole process would be efficient and professional, and that they had a wealth of experience moving and never had any issues.
Communication from there on out was very poor - they were abrupt, unhelpful and misinformed. Movers came and hadn't been told about certain key items that needed moving, even though we'd explicitly highlighted them in the consultation. We were told they would arrive at 7am but they didn't arrive until 9.30am with no phonecall or message to say they'd be late. A number of items were broken and missing when we unpacked - they have a ridiculous system whereby you have to sign to say all items are ok prior to the movers leaving - obviously it takes days (and weeks) to unpack a house so are they just going to stand there for that time if you refuse to sign prior to being able to check everything?!
The company sent only two men to pack up a whole three-storey house (my friend had had 6 men to pack up a 2-bedroom apartment). Items were thrown in in such a haphazard way with no clear organisation - there were house plants squashed beneath shoes beneath bathroom items?! A number of cupboards in the house weren't even emptied. The movers on the day weren't informed by their employers that the new property was a first floor apartment without a lift and were struggling carrying all the boxes between the two of them after a 4hour drive (during the very hot weather). We needed quotes from the company to submit to our employer for relocation fee and we had to ask at least 3 or 4 times just to have these emailed to us - receiving different information from people each time.
All-in-all a very disappointing service considering the cost. I would definitely not recommend.
