Apex Removals Southampton did a fantastic job at helping me move over the Christmas break. A likely stressful experience had it not be for the friendly removals team who treated my stuff as if it were there own. Lots of stuff moved in a very short space of time. A joyful experience to say the least. Thanks guys!

I received great service from them , professional and polite crew. We had an excellent experience.

Our enquiry/booking was managed by Jason. I think it might set the record for the quickest response time to emails and calls. Our original move date was delayed by a month, and we were given our completion date within a week. Jason was able to get back and confirm he had a team available- so truly can't fault that experience.

We decided to purchase the full packing service, I am heavily pregnant and didn't want my partner to do all the lifting. The team of two arrived before our moving date. They didn't bring enough boxes, so used some of the ones we kept back for small items to move the morning of.

Once we moved into our new property, we realised how poorly the packing had been done. Boxes were only labelled with a room I.e. 'kitchen or k' with no content list on the box, so very hard to find things. Especially when the packers ended up mixing room boxes, so for example some of our kitchen and bathroom things were packed together. Upon unpacking a box, I also found some of our food items had been packed with cleaning products - so this resulted in all the food being binned. I also unpacked another "kitchen" box unravelling items wrapped in paper, to realise they were sharp knives. Nothing on the box said be careful sharp objects - this could have resulted in a bad accident.

The movers (actual moving day) arrived promptly within the timeslot. But it appeared not much communication had taken place, as we had two lorries and they didn't seem to know the other was going to be there.

Given we moved on the hottest day of May, the team of 3 worked very quickly to get items out of the house. Especially as we had narrow staircase etc and they took apart some furniture for us. We finished by 12.30pmish, and two of the crew seemed confused/annoyed that we had to wait for the keys. Although this is standard for majority of house purchases.

By the time we were given our keys it had gone past 2.30pm. And the men were keen to unload the vans etc. Although every single box was labelled, majority of the boxes were not put in those rooms. For example "study/bedroom 4" boxes were left downstairs or stacked high making it difficult for unpacking.

By the end of the process they had us check each van to show everything had been moved out (sensible). But we also had to fill in a customer survey with questions about the service etc but also confirm that nothing had been broken in transit. Which is near impossible to know:
1) Boxes were left in a mix of rooms which meant we couldn't quickly check all boxed
2) This could be sent 2/3 days after the move to give people time to unpack

Overall, we were happy with the initial customer service provided by Jason and the movers. But we felt the packing service was a real let down and not value for money spent. This has stopped us giving a 4 or 5 star review. Also, we would not use this company or recommend in the future if someone was looking for the full packing service.
