We had the move from hell - bucketing rain, car problems, vendors not moving out on time and leaving the new house in a mess. Chris & Lee and the team took it all in their stride - were cheerful and reassuring and went way beyond the call of any reasonable expectation to get us through.
The move itself - we had a full packing service - was extremely professional and was amazing value for money.
We cannot praise South East Movers highly enough and would recommend them without reservation.
In addition to this we’ve had poor communication throughout, Chris didn’t even show up on the day he arranged to come give us a quote, but nonetheless we wanted to support a small local business so gave the benefit of the doubt. On the day we moved out of our former house we were left waiting for hours due to a mix up at a previous booking resulting in us finally being packed up at 9pm at night, fortunately we weren’t due to exchange until a few days later else we’d have been in breach of contract. We had a similar situation when it came to moving into our new house, whereby we were told they’d be arriving at 2pm only to arrive several hours later.
Upon receiving our belongings we discovered a number of damaged items, including a box picture frame that had been packed on top of a circular saw and was unsurprisingly broken by the time it got to us. There was also a sizeable scratch in our fridge/freezer, as well as a box of paperwork containing all of our vehicle documentation that appears to have completely disappeared. For these reasons I absolutely wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.
We have been incredibly patient in waiting to receive our TV as we’re conscious that Southeast Movers are a small business and that the pandemic makes things tricky. However, after being told several times it would be couriered to us only to then get countless excuses when asking for an update and to later be told we should have offered to collect it ourselves (despite being more than 3 hours away and in lockdown) and that rectifying the situation isn’t a priority for them, we’ve now been left with no choice but to seek legal action.
