London House Removals

We moved from our 4-bedroom house in London to Kent (90 min drive) and after receiving quotes from a number of different moving companies, three of which were comparable and two were very expensive, we settled on London House Removals. I liked that they took the time to do an onsite visit to quote rather than the seemingly usual WhatsApp call other companies are doing and their insurance coverage was better than most whereby we didn't have to do an itemized list of all our household contents and each van was insured to the value of £50k rather than £50k for the whole house. They were also extremely patient with us as our exchange was delayed by 3 weeks and we had to alter the move date several times. They added no extra pressure which we really appreciated.

The first day of packing went very well and the team of 2 seemed to fly through the packing and packed one van full of boxes and some furniture. The team worked tirelessly. They arrived again early the next morning with a fresh set of young men to finish the job. They appeared to be using a sister company for the additional vans and additional packers. The packing did appear to slow down though as some men aimlessly wandered around looking for what to do next. Some of the team focused on dismantling beds whilst others seemed surprised to open cupboard and find more stuff to pack. I think boxes ran out at some stage, so we had to wait a bit for more to arrive. We had completed on the sale by 10am and still had a lot of packing to finalize. I worked behind the packers scrubbing the house clean for the new owners so wasn't best pleased when I kept finding toilets being used after watching me clean them and left with skid marks and wet basins because they didn't want to use the toilet downstairs that I purposely left till last. Finally, around 1.45pm the house was empty, and we were ready to roll but quite a few of the garden pot plants hadn't been packed yet as there wasn't enough space. Thankfully, they agreed to come back and fetch them that evening and deliver them the next day to our new home miles away (at no additional cost) which we were very grateful for.
One the other end the unloading was efficient, and I'm pleased to say nothing was broken. The team had been working from 7.30am to 6pm and were all very friendly.
