Chudley Moving & Shipping

The guys did an awsome job they were very proffetional. After meeting them we had no worries about them packing the contents of our home. They had a great sense of humour which made us relax during what can be such a stressful time. Moving home is bad enough but moving to another country is a nightmare. We would like to say a massive thanks to Darren, Mark and Mark aka Gloria. We would not hesitate in recommending your company many thanks. Kev and JaX aka Potty mouth - Rottweiler. From the first initial contact with Mark Chudley to the team arriving and packing up our worldly goods for shipping to Cyprus, we could not have been in better hands. They, together with their Cypriot partner, Peter Morton Removals, went above and beyond in their duty. Moving is a very stressful time, moving to another country is twice as stressful, nothing was too much trouble and I continue to recommend the business to all and sundry.

Chudley's do a lot of our freight shipping. They are brilliant every step of the way.

Inspite of the office not following up with any form of communication and not being able to deliver my kit in less than 14 days of it arriving.
The actual guys delivering my kit did a fantastic job and saved Chudley from an even worse review.

Mark Chudley Ltd came highly recommended by people I trust who had used them before to ship from the UK to Cyprus where delivery to our home in Cyprus was handled by Peter Morton Removals. From the very first meeting with Mark Chudley who sized up what we had in the UK through the packing, loading, shipping to and then clearing customs in Limassol and the delivery to our home in Paphos, the service we received was of the highest order and fully justified the high recommendation we received.

Because of COVID19 we had to keep moving goslposts in terms of shipping date but Mark Chudley couldn't have been more accommodating and understanding.

We shipped one car in advance of our major removal so we had a car when we arrived here in Cyprus. The Chudley "team" arrived and spent three days packing up our five bedroom house and then from start to finish, when the 40ft container arrived, they packed our second car and "all our worldly goods" into the container in just under 3.5 hours. The stamina of those guys was something to behold. This was late August in SE England when there was that heatwave. The container was full; there wan't room for even one more box.

Container arrived and cleared Limassol customs and then the Peter Morton Removals (PMR) team swept into action. I paid PMR to have the vehicles registered in Cyprus wirh Cypriot plates and MOT. That was money very well spent since it was done both qickly and efficiently. The unloaders arrived and put all the packed boxes in the various rooms ready for us to unpack, they reassembled pieces of furniture and put it where we wanted it. All done with good grace and a smile.

As we unpacked boxes we called PMR and they came and took away the empty packing cases and paper on three ocassions. There were just three minor breakages out of one very full 40ft container.

Since then we have shipped further goods from thr UK and still have more to ship (COVID19 has played havoc with production and delivery schedules) which has been and will be done using Mark Chudley and PMR again.

All in all, I have been and remain very impressed with the business ethic and atitude of both Mark Chudley Limited and PMR. Everyone I have spoken to or dealt with has been courteous and gone that extra mile to ensure what needed to be done was done when it needed to be done. In my book that'sproper customer service. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending both companies to anyone looking to ship from the UK (Mark Chudley Ltd) or to Cyprus (Peter Morton Removals). A definite 5 stars for both companies!

My experience of Chudleys can only be described as a total disaster. Chudleys was supposed to collect the entirety of my personal possessions from a storage unit in the UK , export wrap & load into a container & ship via tanker to Cyprus. Chudleys were instructed by Peter Mortons the middle of JULY 2020. I was advised that my possessions were in container number****. Which would arrive in limossol 30th August. By the first week of September I had heard nothing. Contacted Mortons who told me they would check with the UK & get back to me. Emails flew backwards & forwards. Go figure. More emails & I was informed on 11th September by Mortons " unfortunately your items have only just been loaded for shipment ( Chudleys & Morton's work hand in hand) your container will arrive on 6th October" Eventually it was discovered my possessions were in Chudleys storage unit in the UK. My possessions were finally loaded on 22nd September. Two & half months after I'd accepted the quote of just over €5000 to export my goods. Please note I had taken out Marine insurance yet was not been given my certificate.
On 2nd October I received an email stating " notification had been received of my consignment vessel due to dock 7th October. Please note 7 of your boxes did not fit in container & are on next arrival" I was devastated. I had moved into a new home on 2nd September with none of my things. The contents of my three bedroom house in the UK. On the 4th October I received a phone call from Mark Chudley. Apologising & he informed me that he has reduced his costs by £500. I received part of my things on the 9th October. Broken items, slashes on the bottom of my sofa's. Squashed boxes. Nothing had been export wrapped . Chudleys men had simply removed my things from storage unit in the UK. Owner of said storage company stated that he had personally reported to Mark Chudley that Chudleys showed no respect for my goods. I have emails stating conversation between Chudleys & the storage company. My headboard was broken. As was antique China, glasses , vases, plates, cups and saucers. Wooden box was damaged. Everything was still in the original packing boxes. Chudleys had not export wrapped anything. Beware.
I was then informed on 14th October that another container containing my remaining god's would arrive into port on 21st October. Then I was emailed to say that my goods would arrive on the 28th October.
My things arrived finally on the 3rd November again broken items. And loads missing and I mean loads . Jelly moulds. Cake tins, kitchen blow torch. Steps. Children boxes and boxes of toys. 2 plastic boxes containing my perfume , strange because a few bottles has actually arrive , one of them was empty. A toaster. Crystal lamp , it's partner had arrived. Electric carving knife. 2 CD racks. Pictures which my children had done which were in a cardboard roll with plastic ends. Roll arrived no plastic ends & no pictures. 1 Evening dress & bolero. I silk skirt. 5 Feather & Duck pillows. Baking Trays. Cold box. China Gravy boat. Metal bucket. 6 photo albums of my children as babies. The list is endless. My insurance was invalid as my goods had been on 5 different tankers. My things had been to Palestine Egypt etc. Chudleys refuses to answer me & Morton's told me not to pay my invoice " that should cover your losses and don't contact us again" I have that email plus the one from Chudleys telling me as a third party they don't have to answer any of my issues. I would never recommend Chudleys. I do have photos of said damage but unfortunately I am having problems posting them . I didn't want to award any stars but unfortunately I can't post my review unless I give at least one reluctant star.

A very professional company with great staff and very responsive to our needs. We were being moved into a house with very limited access down a long narrow road. Chudley produced two vans and a lorry to ensure that all our belongings were moved at the same time, but they would have needed to tranship if they used the lorry. Fortunately, and due to a masterclass in space management, Tom, Simon and Kevin managed to get all our belongings into the two vans. All three members of the team were polite, friendly, responsive and helpful throughout the move.

During the course of the packing up my wife told me that she wasn't feeling very well, took a Covid test and found she was positive. Obviously she absented herself immediately and by this time the team were already on the way to our new house.

Fortunately we had friends present at the new house so we stayed behind and they dealt with the unpacking of our belongings. I spoke to Tom on the telephone to apologise for unwittingly putting them in a difficult position. He was great, both reassuring and supportive and said that it was a hazard of the job but that it would not prevent them from completing the move for us.

Overall, Chudley were very professional throughout, were competitively priced and delivered all of our goods without any damage or breakages. We would happily use them again without reservation.

Had Jason and Alex pack and load my furniture today. They were amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable. Great care was taken with my furniture. If you want a proffessional experiene then use Chudleys.
