The museum is a great place to go to learn about history. Great for children to interact. Plenty to see on both floors and also has a shop where you can buy souvenirs, toys, ice creams/tea/coffee. Friendly staff and lovely grounds.

If you want to learn about the history of Wellingborough then don't come here.
This is the worst laid out and curated museum I have ever seen. The displays appear to every possible artifact they could find laid out with no particular pattern discernable. The main exhibition room has various displays of generic rooms in no particular order. Including one that is a doctors surgery but had nothing to tell you what date it was a certificate from 1972.
This floor was also cramped and cluttered, I would be reluctant to try going in with a wheelchair or pushchair.
Upstairs they have a model railway and various displays showing aspects of life. Mainly just 'rooms' with vaguely categorised items clustered together.
I would say this is more viewable archive than a properly organised museum display.
The shop fails to have ANY souvenirs of the museum or the town. Instead it is filled with generic gift shop tat.
However it does earn two stars for two reasons. Firstly it is a volunteer run museum and so I say well done to them for achieving anything and I could not fault their customer service. Secondly it is FREE so I must admit it is value for money.

Very good!

It's quite small, but it's worth a visit.

The cafe is very well priced (Cornetto ice creams for 75p, other places charge £2.50!). The gift shop has a decent variety of stock, with good pricing.

The bus open day was great, my children loved riding on the double decker buses!
