Small but very good museum with loads of history packed in. Very friendly staff and a great little cafe. Outdoor seating on the hot days is a nice quiet place to have a drink and a chill.

With free parking and admission this delightful little museum explores the colourful history of the area surrounding Cannock Chase.
Friendly and welcoming staff are on hand to answer questions or leave you to explore on your own.
As with most museums there are quite a lot of information boards to read. The old toys and mining sections are very good and there are some hands on activities for younger visitors.
Dogs are not allowed inside the museum, but there is a shaded area with a few tables just outside where you can enjoy a drink from the cafe. There are also plenty of walks directly from the site.
The opening times on Trip Advisor were incorrect when we visited so it is best to check the museum website.

A fab free museum to spend an hour or two. Kids loved it, learning about toys and the coal industry. The staff were very friendly and we found the space stickers challenge very challenging! There is a small coffee shop which sells hot and cold drinks and snacks. Free parking as well.

Majority is display boards with fair collection of artifacts. I found it interesting. Interactive display showing coalfield, mines etc very good. We stayed about an hour then walked in hills behind museum.

Attended with a day centre group. Staff extremely welcoming and accommodating. Easy access to all areas of the building- there is a stair lift for those who need it, to access upstairs.

Exhibits were interactive, engaging and lots of fun. It is a small museum, will take around an hour to fully experience, great for those with young children, or others who have a shorter attention span.

It was lovely as it came yo light that one member of the group had a family member who once worked in the local colliery. He enjoyed seeing what his family member would have gone through.

I will be returning, but this time with my children!

Great for children and adults. Well worth a visit. Play with toys and games and learn about the history of this mining area. No charge but donations welcome. There's even a little cafe and gift shop.

I thought it was brilliant. Loads of information to go through. Didn't realise how much history there was regarding the local area. Will definitely go again.

Wonderful museum, full of local Cannock Chase and surrounds history. If you've taken the time to come to the area, do not miss this gem. Lots of background on the Chase, the people and it's history. Loved the coal mining exhibit, fascinating...toy display upstairs a bonus and throwback to my childhood. Friendly staff and nice tidy cafe too. What's not to like....
