Impressive museum staffed by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers.

Lots of see and explore over 3 buildings. Interteaing to hear and see how the workers lived back then. Family really enjoyed it and it's a great way to spend a couple of hours on a Sunday.

Well worth a visit!

Whet there today and what a fantastic place it is. The building is well preserved as is the interior and the framework knotting machines are a marvel of design and engineering. It really is incredible that such a unique and important part of Wigston and Leicester's past exists and is available to see. Excellently run by a team of friendly volunteers, you get a tour of the house, the machine building (as well as a demonstation of a working knitting machine) and a beautiful garden to see. Tea, coffee and the moistest chocolate cake ever experienced to finish. A true local gem, thank you all involved.

Lovely volunteers but very disorganised. There's nowhere to park so I struggled as its all cobbles. It was very reasonably priced but I couldn't see some of it. It's not really suitable for anyone with a disability. We purchased some items from the shop but when we worked out the prices later we couldn't see how it all cost as much as it did. We feel we were overcharged by about £10. Not the best of experiences all in all. They add up using pen and paper so it's hard to work out. Most items don't have prices on. Feel a bit bad saying all this but it's what we found. Sorry.

What an incredible hidden gem of a place! Walking through those doors was like being transported back in time. An absolutely brilliant day spent there and without a doubt, I'm sure I'll return. Also, I could sit in that garden for hours!!

A remarkable piece of Leics industrial heritage, with the original framework knitters workshop complete with frames situated adjacent to the cobbled yard. Beautifully kept walled garden, which was stunning in June when I last visited. Well worth a visit.
