An interesting site, the gateway to Roman Britain and historically significant in Roman history.

Aside from the Roman ruins there is a shop, small museum and toilets - entrance is perhaps a bit pricey. Once on site one is free to wander and explore - there is an audio guide (included with the admission) which guides visitors between the information boards.

We stumbled upon this while visiting Deal and Walmer Castle. What an interesting place, l'm surprised more people don't know about it especially because how important the site is in British history. As its ruins everything is outdoors so definitely take a jacket & wear something warm. There is a shop out there as well as a toilet & free parking. Get the audio that comes with your ticket.

I enjoyed coming here to see the ruins and was really good to get out in the open. There is not really that much to see though. It really is not worth coming to as a paying customer. As an English heritage member living fairly local it is not so bad. Interesting bit of history and reminds people Thanet was once an island cut off from the mainland. In some ways life has not changed since then.

Great place to visit and a lot of it still there, if I look that good at that age I will be very happy. Photos don't show the real scale of how much is left there lots to walk around both inside and out and helpful information points to tell you the history and what it looked like in the Roman times. Small car park and shop where you can buy jams, wines, key rings, postcards etc. WARNING as you get close to the site the roads are very small so drive carefully.

Not a lot left to see here unlike some of the roman sites up north, but still absolutely worth a visit. The sign boards and audio guide (downloadable on to your own device) were very informative and useful.

Great place to visit whether or not you are a member of English Heritage. The remains of the Roman fort move you back in time and for me a retired Anglican priest it was fascinating to see a square baptism font. This also an excellent place to walk your dog if you have one, The smell of rabbits keeps them really active.

Very good and interesting place, lots to explore. Good little museum and some very informative boards dotted around with educated guesses on what it would have been like 700 years ago.
However, I feel it is massively overpriced for what it is. £25 for 2 adults and 2 children to what is effectively a ruins. One hour, and you're done. At least with Dover, Walmer, and Deal Castles you have much more to explore. Glad i went, but won't be going back until the entry prices have been properly evaluated.

Always a place I call in at when cycling in the area. Sun or gloom it is an atmospheric location with 2000 years of history, the Roman gateway to Britain. Good views from the raised location in good weather.
