This standing stone stands some 7 feet tall and is composed of rose and white quartz and it has quite a strong imposing presence over the field it is in. It's age is questionable. Many people put it as a Bronze Age object relating to burial or spiritual practises but it could be a much more recent 'construction'?. It is crumbling away a little now and pieces may well have fallen off it in the past and some of it's packing stones are exposed at it's base. The small road leading down to the field containing the stone is about a mile long and dusty and a little rocky in places and please seek permission from the farm owner before visiting this site. Please don't block the road to his farm when parking your car also.
