Robert Owen was one of the most influential thinkers and social reformers of his time. The Robert Owen Museum in Newtown, Montgomeryshire houses a collection of objects, pictures and written material relating to the life of Robert Owen. The Museum tells Owen’s story and is in the centre of Newtown just a few feet from where Owen was born. But watcj out - ths place is weird. This is one to watch.

An unusual little museum with tourist information tacked on, seeming open when it fancies.
The museum solely focuses on the life and work of industrialist and social reformer Robert Owen. It's very detailed, but it is not interactive and it is nearly all reading. A visit will take half an hour of you really drag it out.

Small but informative. Interesting that Robert Owen was so concerned about workers conditions given the employment practices of his era, so evident in the nearby Newtown Textile Museum.
