The work created by Chris Woods of Newport is unbelievably good. It is totally fitting for a memorial and for the environment. I am glad to have seen it personally.

Very evocative setting, that portrays the very high price paid by the local population when disaster struck underground.

Amazing place to visiting, approximately 10 minutes walk from the parking area, but worth it.
The artist made it an amazing job, the history of this region was been reflected with this sculpture.
Perfect place for families and dog walkers.
So many pathway in this area.
Worth it to check the weather before arrival, can be really windy.

Apart from the memorial walk. There is a fabulous walk with stunning views around the disused pit from the hills around it.. give it a try on a sunny day.. loved it!
