I had a great experience here. Brian was super friendly and helpful. He re-strung my guitar and made it much easier for me to play. I'd highly recommend a trip here for all things guitar.

Great shop, and Brian the proprietor is seriously helpful. The shop is like an Aladdin's cave of the guitar world, full of interesting instruments and accessories; not just guitars and all the electrical goodies that go with them, but banjos, ukeleles, and I'm sure I spotted a mandolin or two too. Brian is teaching my daughter bass guitar, and his teaching is an excellent blend of musicality, enthusiasm, humour, and patience.

I haven't used Ripley Guitars before but needed some adjustments to my Martin Jr acoustic to lower the action and make the guitar a little easier. I made a quick call and then dropped into the shop. Very helpful and knowledgeable and recommended a change to even lighter strings as well as sorting the saddle height and a slight turn to the truss rod. The guitar is now beautifully set up and a real delight to play. Very pleased indeed.

It’s amazing how many lovely guitars of all kinds and price ranges they manage to fit in this brilliant little shop. Friendly service and great product product knowledge too. Would definitely recommend.

Really cool. Gave good advice to my my 11 year old daughter who is just beginning. Played a bit and even got her singing along. Never rushed us and it was all very chilled.

Customer loyalty is so easily earned with a great attitude and a passion for what you do. This is what the big nationals can never do. I live far from here but its worth the journey.

Love this small independent guitar shop. Lots of choice, well stocked with amazing acoustic, semi-acoustic and electric guitars. Plus amps, strings, plectrums, music and guitar straps.
Super friendly owner with a wealth of knowledge, very laid back. He even played us a Neil Diamond song. A true professional. Best bit, he can teach you how to play your guitar.
The building has a fascinating history. It's small but has a great vibe.
Independent specialist shops like this offering such a good service should be celebrated. Brilliant for absolute beginners and professions alike. I highly recommend it.
Check times before you go. I think they usually open around 09:30.

Great customer service. Highly recommend. Opens late til 8pm on Thursday too!
