Lovely place, steep in places, great for dogs.
Our first time finding it was difficult as not sign posted but well worth it when arrived.

No parking or route found. Very disappointing. Looks like the land has been used for farming g now instead as every point said no access private land.

Great walking area, relatively easy. Can get boggy in some parts.

Not easy to find which is good in that it wasn't busy. We for small carpark on the West side of the woods with space for about 5 sensibly parked cars.
Steep in places so care needed when wet. Also great for the pooch as sheltered from the suand a lovely brook to splash around in. All you hear are bird's and other wildlife so makes it pretty special.

Once we'd found a space to park by the road, we enjoyed our best walk of the year. The slopes are steep but in the valley, the path on the east side is easier and wider. The river Dart here is wondrous. Quite fast flowing and reasonably deep in places, it has a greeny hue and is often clear to the bottom. There are footbridges towards Withleigh. Really enjoyable. You'll need sturdy walking boots.
