Ciao a tutti un saluto e un abbraccio a voi da Roberto forse non vi ricordate sono quello che vi a installato le macchine di Ferrari e cigarini..
I bought one batch of stone which I was delighted with, it matched the stone i saw at the showroom and there was no problem. I then ordered three more large crates of the same stone only to receive something different.
Instead of Downton or Cathedral as it is more usually known it turns out to be another Indian limestone called Hampton Olive - they put idiotic english names on imported stones. It is fairly similar but notably greener with a different texture, and crucially it marks more easily. ie it is softer, which is generally reflected in a lower retail price.
Having already paid several thousand pounds for the stone which was blocking my driveway I immediately asked them to engage with the problem and arrange to take it away. But would they even contemplate the possibility they had made a mistake, let alone come to see the stone? I dont believe the customer is always right but i certainly disagree with the notion they are always wrong! At every juncture they swore blind it was my mistake, refused to explain where exactly the stone was from and outrageously insisted I was seeing it wrong despite my having had the different stone variations corroborated independently by two different stone merchants.
Eventually they agreed reluctantly to refund the money but insisted I pay for delivery both ways to and from the property as well as a 'restocking' charge. I was therefore forced to pay £600 for the privilege of receiving the wrong product.
They then had the nerve to renege on the refund and issue an unwanted credit note instead!
Theyre very nice when youre looking to buy from them but quite different when theres a problem to sort out....
