When the place is open it is interesting to see the wild flowers and trees. If you're lucky you might get to see dragonflies. It does get busy with lots of children on open days though.

Great place for kids, lots of events organised for parents and kids. Local schools use it on a regular basis.

Garthorne Road Nature Reserve is a lovely place to visit. It's a patch of land owned by Network Rail that the council are keen to keep as green spaces. Volunteers run them and have regular open days and volunteer days for the public. Best to check their Facebook page for details and dates.

The nature reserve was originally part of the Great North Wood, an ancient landscape that covered the high ground between Deptford and Selhurst. It became fragmented due the development of south London's suburbs.

Open for 3 hours on the third Saturday of each month until October, and run by friendly and enthusiastic volunteers. Trees are labelled along the walking route.
