A lovely walk, with some beautiful views.. so people see it as just a old quarry and somewhere to just enjoy a walk, Myself at places such as the lime kilm/ lime quarry at llanymnech, I like to stand back and imagine how hard the men of the quarry would have been working back in the day, how they engineered things to get the job done and things of that nature, I love the history of things..
As I say a beautiful walk but would be better in nicer weather

Had a little walk up and around the rokcs. Bit misty today but still lovely views. Walked a bit down the Offas Dyke path and bakc just for fun. Would definitely go bakc and do a bit more of it. Golf course was busy but still managed not to get hit by a flying golf ball.

We walked up to this nature reserve from the limeworks below. Steep walk up but the views at the top are worth it. There is also the limestone quarry and cliffs which are quite spectacular. There are loads of wildflowers and butterflies. You can also see the top of three draw kilns and the brake drum houses. Interesting bit of history along with views, rocks and exercise. I highly recommend checking out the internet for people making quicklime in a draw kiln as it would have been done on this site. It’s very interesting.

A beautiful place with a huge array of wildlife and views when you get to the top!

Seeing slow worms and Autumn Lady's Tresses Orchid was amazing.

This place is beautiful, but first thing to note is that the only parking we found was a tiny carpark hidden away at the top of Underhill Lane, which was free but again very small. We live an hour away so we don't know the surrounding area well enough to know where else to park. That being said, I think Llanymynech Rocks are quite hidden so there weren't many people there at all. It was mainly experienced rock climbers and the odd person having a walk. Llanymynech Rocks is situated on the boarder of England and Wales. You can actually walk up to the view point area and right opposite, in the distance, you can see Admiral Rodney's Pillar (we did this walk the following week). When you begin the walk you are immediately greeted with a cliff edge (you are at the bottom with the rocks towering above you). It is like a wall of earth and quite enjoyable to look at while walking around the area. Eventually, you come to another rocky area with small hills and steep dips in the ground where the cliffs carry on and again a rock climbers heaven. There were a handful having a climb and enjoying the sunshine. We continued our walk around the area and oddly found ourselves walking through some gates onto an ooen golf course, which I presume they are used to walkers coming through from the rocks. A lovely little place to explore with very friendly locals.

Lovely place, great for wildlife, an old quarry with lots of places to explore.small car park but there should be no problem with parking in surrounding area.

Worth a visit any time of the year with walks to suit all abilities. Picnic area with plenty of seating. Great trail around Old kiln workings, canal and railway. Carpark very small which becomes full quickly at peak times.
