This is a great place for butterflies. We parked at the Mill lane entrance which was accessible but a little rough. We couldn't believe how many butterflies were there. As it's August it is a good time to see common blue, small copper, large white, small white and green veined white. We also saw speckled wood and comma. The herons were also great to see and black cap and lapwing were there too. Well worth a visit.

The place could do with some loving care and attention. Didn’t see any wildlife apart from lots of midges. Great if you like to train spot!
Shame really as this could be a great nature walk. One the plus side, their is plenty of seating dotted around.

Extensive walks, nice job done so far to make the old Avenue works attractive. Lots of trees planted, paths great quality. One gripe, there are no seats anywhere to sit down. From one end of the site to the other is a long walk and seats would be appreciated by the older generation.

Nice area to walk round will be better when established, the screens round wetland area could be closer as even with a large camera lens it's hard to get good close up shots

A lovely place to come for a walk or to watch wildlife. There are several spots to lookout over the nature reserve and all are easily walkable. There is a longer walk that you can do if the footpath over the railway is open which takes you along the river.
It's a shame theres so much construction going on in the field next to the reserve. I really hope this doesn't have a negative affect as it's a lovely place to visit.

We took a group of Scouts on a bat walk. The staff were great. Very knowledgeable and helpful.
There is an open day on the 1st June I believe. Some family fun and insight into nature.

Good little walk with opportunities to see birds and woodland animals. Make sure to walk down the steps and through the gate to walk along by the river.

If you're lucky you'll see a kingfisher. Always tons of robins and blackbirds.
