Loved it. So close to us and not been before. Car park and a number of paths. We walked for 2 or 3 miles without retracing steps. A few hides to view the birds including a kingfisher

An amazing place for wildlife. An absolutely amazing reserve with well kept pathways and wildlife screens. Next to the River Alt. No toilets.

I enjoy coming here with my husband for walks.
We get some good photos of nature and birds in their natural habitat.
We would love to bring a family member here who is in a wheelchair but can't because of the gates throughout the place. I get why the gates are in place but this has also restricted disabled people from visiting and enjoying the nature reserve. It would be great if the gates could be swapped for wheelchair friendly ones.
The nature reserve itself is well maintained and we always enjoy our walks there.

Peaceful Nature reserve on North Liverpool doorstep, good birdspotting opportunities , generally quite quiet. Parking available down gravel Road. Can't get very muddy in winter and floods regularly. No bins so please take rubbish and dog mess with you.

Lovely place to come for a walk and distance yourself from it all for a while. It's good seeing all the wild life in it's natural habitat.

Lovely place for a walk! Very peaceful and some great wildlife. Great that it's free! Can be very muddy in the wet so bring wellies!

First visit and really enjoyed it. Arrived early at about 08:00, so had to park in layby opposite entrance to road carpark.

Caught a glimpse of Barn Owls, but saw loads, both in the wetlands, in the river and grasslands.

Clean and well managed. Everyone I met was friendly. Just a few dogs off leads - it's not comforting to hear, 'It's OK, he's friendly...' when your dog is off a lead and barking aggressively at someone...

Admittedly, I think the camera gear doesn't help.

Will definitely visit again
