Croxall Lakes

A hidden gem. Pleasant walk along the side of an old quarry. There is a small free car park. Plenty of chances to capture photos of the local wildlife, with decent bird hide (see photo) overlooking the water.

Great place for a quiet walk, nice scenery and lots of wildlife. Very well managed.

Excellent place to take the children if you like jumping up and down in muddy puddles! Lovely scenery too.

Not impressed. Nice lake next to river Trent. No facilities. Dogs only allowed in certain area. More emphasis on it being a nature reserve. Small but free car park. Xx

It has potential to become a nice nature reserve.
Hides were in good condition and thankfully vandal free at present.
One of the hides is wheelchair friendly but unfortunately the furthest hide is not suitable. Whilst there a family of egrets were grouped together and counted at least 9. Unfortunately no Kingfishers.

Very peaceful, close to the water close to many many birds close to nature nature

Lovely area with some wonderful birds, sadly it rained heavily while I was there so didn't get to make the most of the place but will definitely return.

Nice place to relax on a short trip. Free parking but very limited. Mostly used by dog walkers. The bird hide is no longer there but it looks like they're rebuilding it. No facilities.
