Remember this is a hole in the ground created by a company who bought the land and then dug as deep as they could do in order to sell off the valuable material and dump the rest that was seen as waste
A site of 20 hectare that the owner believes there is nothing left that they can profit from (watch out for the development housing need plan. The owning company is willing to give away the control & management of this site to anyone with the funds to advertise a location which is slowly being allowed to recover from the years of stone grinding machines and deliberate neglect simply because it is no longer being worked as a productive site and therefore provides no profit but continues to produce costs related to insurance and maintenance. May we all look at the small print to find out if the Welsh taxpayer own this site or are simply under contract to pay for upkeep?
Nature is showing amazing grow back, whilst North Wales Wildlife Trust pat themselves and their organisational back in order to claim that they have the ability to change nature..! (No that is natural)
This amazing industrial landscape is gradually changing because of the will of nature and can benefit from a massive help but before the land manager and profitability account overseers came along this was a piece of farm land that was perfectly happy in the way it existed.
Long story short we need to support the return to nature of this site but always remember this is a brown field site of no special scientific interest and therefore easily included in the local authority development plan!

This was a really nice little reserve to visit. There's a fair bit to walk around if you want to see it all, there are some rare sights over-looking a surprisingly picturesque quarry, and the staff I met there seemed lovely!

Well worth a visit, the walks and views are stunning, hidden away just 3 or 4 miles from mold.

This reserve is badly signposted impossible to park and extremely difficult to get to.Older people should be warned before they set out to prevent them from having a Easter journey.
