Llyn Coed Y Dinas is a small nature reserve nestled between the bypass and old road to Welshpool. There is a large, well kept bird hide overlooking the man made lake. There is also a large meadow area, with perimeter walk, seating area and "dipping pond".
The hide is decorated with informative murals, and may be a good place to bring children.
There is a reasonably sized car park but pulling back out to rejoin the main road is difficult as visibility to the right is very poor.

Went here to escape from busy Powis Castle on a bank holiday Monday. Nice peaceful place and a lovely bird hide looking over the lake.

Very small, only one very short circular route and one short walk to hide over looking a large lake. A fair selection of birds though. Nice if you don't have a lot of time or can't walk that far.

Lovely little reserve, quiet and peaceful. A credit to the trust that looks after it. A lake, woodland, and meadow means you'll see plenty of wildlife. Enjoy!

If you're an avid bird-watcher, then this is the place for you. There's not much to it other than the hide, though, so if you're looking for more of a walk or are interested in more forms of wildlife, we wouldn't recommend going out of your way.

Small car park - free though. Just off the main road. Small circular route. Can't get to lake. Bird hide at end. Would rush there for a walk

Some of the site was flooded when we visited but we got to the hide and saw a good selection of birds including snipe.
