Have been donating both clothes/shoes/money for some years now. Today went to post 2 pairs of good shoes in the donation bin outside. Absolutely disgusted by the state of the area - clothes overflowing, strewn about. Surely a health and safety issues for local residents. Shame on the Salvation Army for allowing such a situation to arise and get so much out of control. Took the shoes to donate elsewhere and will not offer anything (including money) to the Salvation Army in future as they do not appear to respect donations.

Hello Everyone who has commented on our Review Page. We appreciate your feedback…
My reason for putting this review up is in answer to Ann who visited our Clothing Bank recently and found it full with other clothing donations thrown around on the floor outside the clothing bank. We empty our Clothing Bank 5 days a week more than any nationally run SA Clothing Bank.. We also have a very clear Notice that states any donations left outside the bank will either get stolen or due to health and safety reasons would end up being disposed of on a Monday Morning as we cannot state if it has been contaminated while outside the Clothing Bank over the weekend.
We unfortunately, cannot afford to employ staff 7 days a week to empty the clothing bank 7 days a week.
We simply hope that people would and will read the safety notices and respond accordingly.
We are sorry that Ann was disappointed with us on the day she visited but would assure her if she visited with any donation in the future (if we were forgiven for something beyond our control) we would love to see her during our Opening Times or of a weekday evening when our Clothing Bank tends to be more empty.
As the Commanding Officer and Centre Manager here we always aim for 5 stars on this review site and for the Work our Staff and Volunteers do throughout the week… I say Thank You and award them 5 stars for their effort.
Everyone is Welcome here at Hoxton Salvation Army
Hope to see you one day!
