Guildford Nursery School and Family Centre

I can’t recommend this place highly enough for anyone looking for a brilliant nursery for their child. My daughter has just spent two very happy years at York Road Nursery.

Every member of staff is kind, friendly and professional, without exception.

Like many people, I was nervous about leaving my daughter somewhere new but from day one my fears were alleviated because I could see how much the staff genuinely care for the children and how well looked after they are. I believe it is a real bonus that they are qualified teachers too which has really helped to prepare my daughter for school.

There is a big emphasis on spending time outdoors and my daughter absolutely loved her time at forest school.

Thank you to everyone at the centre - I know she’ll miss going there every day!

My son has recently started at Hazel Avenue. With the pandemic it was a scary time but I can't recommend them highly enough. He loves his time at nursery and it really is a lovely, gentle nurturing environment. All the staff I've met are lovely and have gone above and beyond to be flexible with my work commitments. We can only recommend Children's centre at Hazel Avenue. Our son loved spending time in there and had a lovely time! All of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly and nourishing. Our son's felt loved and safe! His key person Wendy is lovely, supporting of children and parents too. She was brilliant to our son and he considered her as his best friend! He had also spent lots of time with Chantal who is also brilliant! We are really grateful to all of the staff who helped looking after our boy! Thank you Children's Centre!

My son went to Guildford Nursery/Hazel Avenue for two years. I can't recommend it highly enough. My son flourished physically, mentally and emotionally and has become a confident, creative and an independent kid. Except for the first week when we received exceptional support from the nursery staff for his settling in, he went there happily and cheerfully every day. Every morning, he was met by the kind, and caring staff with a big smile on their faces. He spent time in the nursery experiencing quite a range of activities with plenty of different materials, and enjoyed the spacious garden exploring nature and having the opportunity to play with various toys. Having spent there two happy years, he has already missed Guildford Nursery!

My son started nursery in Jan and the change in him has been incredible. He has responded in an overwhelming posistive way to the Guildford Nursery School environment which has taught him to be more independent and aided him in how to best interact with his peers. He is happiest when he is outside and the nursery encourages the children to make the most of the fantastic outdoor spaces. He comes home everyday with a new story of what he has been up to and as his time there has continued he seems to get more and more out of his days.

A wonderful nursery, a great team, an ideal environment for children. Our daughter will always remember this wonderful time at GNS. During these 2 years she has changed. She is bolder, bolder, and plays with children. And most importantly, her English is so good thanks to attending a Nursery, that she can easily cope with the new school. The ladies did a great job, I will never forget how much patience and heart they gave to my daughter when she was afraid at first to be left without her mother.

We love that nursery, our both son and daughter went there, the kids were well cared, looked after , the key person Chantal and Joe was very helpful, always passing the information regarding the kids wellbeing. Highly recommended if you are thinking to send you child to this nursery. Best if wishes.

I couldn't have hoped for a better nursery school for my daughter, incredible teachers and staff and in a magnificent setting. My daughter has really flourished and has learned so much during the 18 months that she has been there. We will miss everyone greatly!
