My little boy went to the olive tree nursery and I thought it was a very good nursery and the staff who care for him were amazing, however the manger is very rude and unprofessional.

My little boy had his place cancelled as he was not entitled to a PCR test. My child had a cough/cold since he started nursery, he has been to the doctors, myself And my partner do weekly PCR tests due to our jobs, I had to keep my little boy off of nursery as I had a phone call from the doctors to why my little boy can’t clear his cold.

The nursery said for my little boy to come back he would have to have a negative PCR test. However, due to his cough not being a new cough, he was not entitled to the PCR test. I carried out a lateral flow test which was negative and I emailed the results to the manger.

The manger did not accept this and accused me of lying about my little boy not being entitled to a PCR test. She was very rude to my partner on the phone as we was asking what we could do so my little boy could go back to nursery. The manger repeatedly said ‘I’m not bending the rules, I’ve got to keep my staff safe.’ And was not letting myself or my partner talk. She then cancelled my little boys place.

When questioning the reason behind her cancelling his place, she played the victim card and told me I was abusive and was threatening her. She told me she had been onto the phone to public health England but she did not inform them that I had told them about the cough on the 24th of June and that the cough is not a new cough.

I was very upset with how I was spoken too, I have emails to prove that I was only asking what I had to do, other than a PCR test as he’s not entitled to one, to get my son back into nursery.

I personally feel that the staff are very helpful and actually care for the children, however I cannot say the same for Helen the manger.
